Victoria Hagan Home Textiles Collection

Hi everyone!  Hope you are all having a wonderful summer, it's going way too fast!  I use my Blog to write about things that I feel are unique and special.  Yesterday, I was presented with a line of textiles I had not seen before from the -- Victoria Hagan Home Collection.  The patterns and colors of these fabrics were so fresh, vibrant and attractive, I wanted everything!!!  Here is a small sampling of some of the loveliest and beautifully colored floral and geometric patterns from the collection.  I see A LOT of incredibly beautiful fabrics, but this collection just stood out to me.  Even the names of the patterns are pretty!  Remember, the key to creating beautifully designed interiors is by using special fabrics.  Have a look and enjoy!

Style That Table!

One of the things I love to do as an interior designer is style tables.  When a project is finished, it's finally time to accessorize the room, and I usually cannot wait to get to the point where I can place all of the pretty and colorful things I have found and collected to customize the space -- it's like the jewelry for the room!  Without these items, the look wouldn't be the same at all.  Here are some great examples of tables styled to perfection!  Enjoy!

Valentine's Day Red!

Happy Valentines Day everyone! As a designer and color consultant, it has been my experience that most people are nervous about using color in their homes -- especially RED!  And I can see why -- RED is intense! But maybe that's why RED symbolizes the color of LOVE.  So I just wanted to share with you some examples of spaces where the incorporation of RED feels just right!  Scroll down for a look at some of these fabulous spaces featuring RED!  Some are a little more intense than others...

Ronald McDonald House of Long Island

Project Design 2013

This past weekend I had the opportunity to see a recently completed charitable design project at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.  As you may know, the Ronald McDonald House is a place where families of seriously ill children can find a warm and comforting environment to stay, while maintaining close proximity to the hospital and their children -- so important.  Since it first opened, the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island has grown from an 18-bedroom home to an expanded 42-bedroom home with numerous common living spaces, kitchens and laundry facilities.  Recently, an incredible initiative called Project Design 2013 focused on decorating and beautifying many of the bedrooms and common areas for the families.  The Project was primarily led by (amazing company) Kravet Fabrics as well as designer Anthony Baratta. Joining them were some of the industry's most charitable, talented and well-known designers, and their generous vendors and contractors (NARI).  The House was open to the public for a brief 3 days this past weekend to view these beautiful spaces.  As you will see, the end result was absolutely spectacular and for SUCH A GOOD CAUSE!!!   I can't think of a better place for a "showhouse" to have taken place.  The installations are permanent! The following images are only some of the spaces in the house (regrets that I could not capture and show all), and will give you an idea of how special these spaces are and how hard the designers worked to enhance and give beauty and comfort to the lives of families in need.  I applaud all involved in this project for their hard work and generosity.  Inspiring.
