Color 101

Here's a little lesson in COLOR:

The term Hue means the actual color something is, like red, yellow, blue, orange, pink or violet!

The term Tint refers to a color having some white added to it, like a pastel.

The term Tone refers to a color being grayed down, the addition of some black.

The term Value means the weight of a color -- or its strength.

Primary Colors are, of course, Red, Yellow and Blue, of which all other colors can be made.

Secondary Colors are Orange, Green and Purple.

Complementary Colors are the colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel, and these colors tend to look good together, such as a beautiful turquoise and a bright orange!

Monochromatic Colors are all of the tints, tones and shades of a certain color.  Rooms decorated with monochromatic colors are usually very soothing and beautiful to the eye.

Now you know more about color!  Have a very colorful day!  Nanette
